What a day.
If you can’t be in Bimini, Bahamas today for the start of the Elite 8 in men’s college basketball, or the second day of the women’s Sweet Sixteen then Vegas might be your best bet.
You would be able to watch and wager on those events plus the Dubai Championship Horse races today featuring California Chrome in the $10, 000, 000 Dubai World Cup.
California Chrome is the favorite but no doubt will be tested. Candy Boy, perennial runner up to Shared Belief is my sentimental choice today. Lea has been training gang busters there as well and looms as the main threat. [embedded content] In the Elite 8 Kentucky is an 11 point favorite against Notre Dame. I don’t like the Irish’s chances today, but I said the same thing against Wichita State. Kentucky, at least against West Virginia looked like they were in another class completely. Still I believe, Wisconsin, Arizona and certainly Gonzaga can upset.
In the other game today Arizona is a 1 point choice against Wisconsin.
This game should be pick. I opened Arizona 1 after seeing some 1. 5’s out there.
Tomorrow Michigan State is a 2 point favorite against Louisville while Duke is a 2 point choice against Gonzaga. I will take both dogs, thanks.
In horse racing today I like Grand Tito (3-1 ML) to win the Grade 3 Mile Turf in Gulfstream Park’s 6th race. The Florida Derby looks wide open. Upstart, Itsaknockout, Materiality will all being trying to punch their tickets to the Kentucky Derby. Any of those three can win, but I am going with Ami’s Flatter at 8-1. I think he will enjoy the added distance and can sit just off the pace. He will be tested for class today.
Finally in the 8th race at Fairgrounds I like Slumber (7-2) in the 9 furlong turf Grade 2 event.
